The year that Shuttlerock was founded was the last year of the NASA Space Shuttle program. The crew of the program had ventured to Christchurch, New Zealand to visit and inspire the families affected by the devastating earthquakes of 2011.

Shuttlerock founder, Jonny Hendriksen, was truly inspired by having the humbling experience of spending time with the entire crew of the final Discovery flight. So, firstly to pay respect to the entire NASA Space Shuttle program which has inspired generations to believe that anything is possible and to discover outside ‘our world’, we wanted to continue the ‘Shuttle’ legacy.

Secondly, the ‘rock’ is respect for the Astronauts themselves, in particular, the Commander of the shuttle, who is often referred to as their ‘rock’. He or she is a truly amazing human being, with their wealth of knowledge, experience, wisdom, courage, calmness and humility.

So there you have it - Shuttlerock. We aim to become the most knowledgeable, innovative and trustworthy partner of them all!
